Why Focus on Coaching Skills?

  • Would your organisation benefit from a culture where people feel more trusted and are empowered to develop?
  • Do your managers prioritise fixing problems rather than developing their people?
  • Are performance conversations inconsistent or avoided altogether?

Training your people in coaching skills isn’t just about having better conversations, it’s about changing how your managers lead and develop their people. With the right skills, your managers and leaders can unlock their people’s potential and support their performance and professional development.

What a Coaching Skills Programme Looks Like

Programmes are tailored to your needs.

Examples of typical coaching skills programme formats:

1. Two-Day Immersive

A focused, hands-on introduction to core coaching skills. This format is interactive and includes theory and coaching demonstrations. Participants have the space to practice and receive feedback, so they build confidence in coaching others. They leave with a good foundation in coaching techniques.

2. Modular Programme (over 4–6 months)

Designed as a series of half-day sessions (typically 4-5), this format allows time between modules for participants to apply what they learned, reflect on how their coaching skills are improving and uncover where they need more support. Each session builds on the last, with structured opportunities to discuss their learnings and practice and receive feedback. This reinforces their learning in real time.

3. Extensive Integrated Programme

Delivered as part of broader leadership or culture change initiatives. This option combines interactive workshops, 1:1 coaching, peer coaching, and action learning sets. Participants work on real challenges in between sessions, deepening their capability while building a coaching culture across the organisation.

Topics typically include:

  • The coaching mindset
  • Building trust and psychological safety
  • Listening and questioning
  • Coaching Models such as GROW or CLEAR
  • Coaching as a manager (developing your people, having difficult conversations, motivating your people)

Coaching Training Tailored to You

Every programme is tailored to your needs and grounded in evidence-based practices and practical application. We begin with your context: from where your managers are now, to the coaching culture you’re trying to build. From there, we design a programme that meets your people’s needs and their availability.

If needed, we can build in 1:1 or group coaching to support the deeper integration of coaching skills.

What to Expect When Working with Me

We co-design the programme around your goals and challenges. This ensures that we align on a structure that both works for your people and gives them a skillset to address the challenges you have identified
We share the theory, show the participants ‘how to’ with live coaching demonstrations, and give them ample space to practice and receive feedback. Participants are asked to bring relevant topics that they would like coaching on. This means participants benefit not only from applying these new skills in the room, but equally from the coaching they receive.
Sessions draw on the latest thinking in coaching, psychology, neuroscience and adult learning theory and are always adapted to meet your goals.
Participants get a sense of their own coaching ability, through coaching others and getting feedback. They also gain insight through being coached. This means they leave with both tools and techniques they can apply immediately and greater self-awareness for their own professional development.

The work doesn’t end with our final session. I focus on embedding habits, behaviours, and mindsets that your team can carry into the wider organisation.
